A blatant scraplift!

I wanted to do this photo justice as it is one of my all time favourites of Tony and Alex taken at a Venture portrait shoot we did some 10 years ago! Gwyneth did a gorgeous page which I just had to copy as I knew it was perfect for this picture. You can see Gwyneth's orginal here. Have used Sarah's Cards January kit with beautiful Fancy Pants papers and added some of my own pearls.

Apart from that I can take no credit!

Thank you Gwyneth for letting me copy your lovely work!

Pages from the Golbourne Crop...

Made a couple of pages at the crop last week. Love this photo of Josh sat on the trig point on Loughrigg Fell. It was the first time we had climbed a Wainright and the view was amazing from the top. Have used an old Sarah's Cards kit from January 2010 - Bo Bunny Flutter Butter.

These were photos from one of Alex's parties a few years ago when she turned 9. They weren't the best of pics but I wanted to include them all. Have used some American Craft Princess range papers and embellishments.

Only about 6 more birthdays to scrap but I am determined to catch up with them this year!

One more day at work then I am off for 10 days and looking forward to catching up with friends, a visit to my parents and some me time.

4x6 Photo love May challenge

This month's challenge was to use 4 4x6 photos with the addition of a flap holding hidden journalling. I've had these photos on my "to scrap" pile for a while but I was struggling to scrap them because of the bright colours. I'm pleased with how this has turned out and think I will do the same with a set of photos featuring Alex and the rhinos!

The pictures were taken one day last August in Chester who had a whole trail of Rhino's around the city. We stumbled across it by accident on a trip to by cheap school shoes at the Chesire Oaks (the outlet centre) and spent the rest of the day looking for them until we got rained off!

A visit to London...warning, photo heavy post!

It was a while back we went but need to share these pics for the family members that read my blog! We headed down in the Easter break (or the not Easter break as it was actually way before the bank holiday!) for a couple of nights. We stayed out at Docklands and visited sites out the the east in Greenwich, spent a whole day at the Tower, had dinner with my brother and then spent the last day walking "the sites" and a quick stop to shop in Hamleys.

All in all a great trip and the weather was gorgeous on the last day.

Buckingham Palace

A tender father & son outside the palace (actually I think he was being tickled!)

Trying to get on the lions in Trafalgar Square!

Finally she made it!

Outside Horseguards

It's for you!

Big Ben was an impressive site - especially for two kids that had not seen it before!

Some old dock cranes outside our hotel

Another cuddle - this time at the Tower

This was the Cutty Sark!

A really interesting display of measurement at The Royal Observatory, Greenwich

A view of canary wharf and the Royal Naval College

Josh enjoying Tower Bridge (it was freezing and very windy at this point in the day!)

Our friendly Yeoman Warder - we had a fantastic tour!

Back with more scrapping pics later this week :)

Scrapology Challenge D is for Dimension

So first I will share this page which has taken me all month to work on, mainly due to the fact that I haven't had much time for scrapping. It's inspired by Rachael's "The Best" lo from the Sarah's Cards DT booklet in January's kit. I really enjoyed cutting all the flowers and leaves out and love the icy feel of the lo. The Scrapology challenge gives you a sketch each month and this month's challenge V is for Vine is running until the 5th June.

I have also started making a few cards based on two challenge blogs I have found. I hope to build up enough stock to have a basket on my desk at work to sell for charity. More on that when I have enough to sell!

In the meantime I tried a less is more challenge and created this one which was to use a small amount of red....

Very simple but I quite like it. The 52 card challenge is also a good one over at Paper and Ribbons. This was week 13 - pink/die cuts and flowers made using some scraps of an old kit.

We have a weekend of doing very little apart from a pedicure for me in a little while and a party for Alex. Tomorrow is the Turkish Grand Prix and a big Man U match so thank heavens it's a wet weekend - we won't mind sitting in doors!

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Back!!

I know I've been away a while but most of April has been taken up with this...

But it's all done now - no more forms to collect or doors to knock on. On the whole everyone was very pleasant. I have lots to share over the next few days about days out, trips to London and some crafting too.
