4x6 Photo Love - November

It's been a busy half term week here (more of that tomorrow) but I  managed to sneak in some scrapping on Wednesday evening and completed another of Shimelle's 4x6 Photo Love challenge.  This was November's and so we had to use 11 photos.  I picked out the photos from our Dolphin Experience at Discovery Cove in 2009.  I'm really pleased with the way this layout works with the extra "half" page in between.  The papers are Crate Paper - Season from a very old Sarah's Cards Kit. (Still working on using up that old stash lol!)

This is the page as you see it in the album...

This is the right hand side...

Either side of the middle pages...

And the left hand side...

It brought back happy memories of a brilliant day scrapping these photos :)

UKS Weekly Challenge - February week 1

I have been playing all day on my January pages for Document 2012 and turned to inspiration from the weekly challenge over on UKS for my main page;

This week's challenge comes from the Pink Glitter Gals - hope you enjoy it!

As we are the Pink Glitter Gals we’d like you to use a photo of a woman/women in your LO (10pts)

To mark the DVD release of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, we'd like you to use sewing somewhere on your LO (10pts)

As 6th February 1918 saw British women over the age of 30 get the vote, celebrate an achievement in your LO (10pts)

I had already decided I wanted to scrap Alex turning into a teenager so this fitted with the achievement and the photo so I just needed to put some stitching somewhere which I did with some cross stitches in various places.  I also managed to use lots of scraps up on this page from a January kit from Sarah's Cards.

So that's 30 more points for the Dizzy Dots :)

Thanks for stopping by.

10 things on the 10th

I was mooching around blogs tonight and came across someone else's post about "10 things" and it suddenly dawned on me what the date was!  So with no real preparation I have gone for "10 events" I already have in the calendar to look forward to this year...

Ed Sheeran at the Manchester Apollo in November

Hormonal Housewives at The Opera House in March

5 nights in the Algarve to stay with my brother in June

A weekend away at Meadow Barn with the UKS Twilighters in March

Plan B at Delamere Forest in July

Joshua's Year 6 leavers' party in July

A weekend in Edinburgh with the girls in September

A fortnight in Greece in August (when we get around to finalising it!)

A cup cake decorating course with Alex in March

42nd Street at The Opera House in October

I'm sure we will add more to the list as the year goes by but as someone who likes to get out there and enjoy life I'm quite pleased with this little lot to start with!!

Thanks for stopping by and please visit Shimelle for more of 10 things on the 10th.

Stay warm x

My month in numbers - January 2012

I have made a start on my Document 2012 today.  I wanted to do two 12x12 layouts plus a page of with the divided page protectors.  For one of my pages I thought I would use "my month in numbers" to capture some of the things we had done that month.  I love this idea and came across it while blog hopping when I came across it on Julie's blog.

So without further ado here are my numbers for January...

7 pairs of shoes bought for Alex and Josh in one month! Both had new school shoes and then, because Alex is now a whopping size 6, she got new trainers for PE, new boots, some wellies, a pair of walking boots and a pair of shoes for going out.  That was one expensive month!

3 new recipes tried during the month - the lemon loaf was the best :)

Josh was invested into the 19th Warrington Scout Troop

We took 7 Brownies away to Waddow Hall, Clitheroe on my first Brownie Pack Holiday as a leader

Tony turned 47

Alex turned 13

Alex now has all her adult teeth - 28 in total.

So this is the page I made with an old Sarah's Cards Kit featuring Fancy Pants Happy Together papers.

Apologies the photos and great - a combination of bad winter light and taking them on my iphone for speed!

This page also qualifies for the weekly challenge over on UKS in which we had to use the sketch, use some new stash (I used a new Prima Mistables Mask for my background) and journal (yep, I think I covered that one!)

Why don't you go and take a look at Julie's blog and document your Month in Numbers?
