Sketchy Scrappers NSD challenge

I was keen to join in all the challenges set by the Sketchy Scrappers on NSD but had to get creative as I didn't have much spare time to do them. So I combined the colour challenge below...

With one of the sketch challenges...

And came up with this using some MME papers from a a kit I picked up in TK Maxx - got to love a bargain!

Just added a few stickers and embellishments from my own stash.

Pages to share

A couple of layouts to share with you but I can't remember or locate the sketches I have used! Anyway I was focussed on killing a kit and so I did!

These photos were a couple of years ago when we said goodbye to the kids playroom and turned it into our study/craft room.  The Hama bead shapes were on the side of a shelving unit and I wanted to document them as they were part of our lives for so long.  I even included some spare sequins on this layout (the kind you get in a plastic bag attached to a top you've bought!) as they reminded me of a strip of Hama beads!

This next one is a series of photos from our trip to  London a few years back.  It's been a while since I've done a double layout but felt these iconic photos all deserved to be together along with a list of our favourite things from the trip,

I feel like I am slowly catching up on scrapping some of the older photos from trips and days out. But will I ever be caught up?  I don't think so!!!

Me on a Monday

The weekend for me started early as I had Friday off work so forgive me for indulging myself and including Thursday but it was a milestone weekend...

Thursday was a recreating old photos and the last day of uniformed school kind of day...

2010...

2015...
..
It was coming home with a shirt full of memories kind of Thursday...

Friday dawned and it was the traditional leavers day at school kind of Friday which only comes once and includes boys in suits and girls in pretty dresses. It was also a get up early and curl my daughters hair kind of day!

It was a head to the pub for lunch with other Year 11 mum's kind of Friday so we could see them come out of school...

It was a tearful moment when I saw my girl kind of day but so pleased she has had such a lovely group of friends to take her through high school...

And then it was a stay out in the village with friends and drink kind of afternoon. Reminiscing and getting emotional as we were missing our friend who died in November and couldn't see what we could see including her beautiful daughter leaving school too...

Saturday dawned with tired heads and it was into Manchester for a rabies jab for Alex, a mooch in a couple of shops and lunch in Costa.  Then it was back to enjoy the weather for summer had finally arrived!  It was a salad in the sun kind of Saturday evening - I so love eating in the garden when the weather is fine.

Oh no wait Summer hadn't arrived for Sunday dawned cloudy and cold.  So it was a Brownie camp prep and planning morning (so much to document as I am applying for my licence to take them away this time) including cutting lots of shapes to make camp pin badges (Thank heavens for a big shot!)...

And a bit of scrapbooking and catching up on Home Fires (is anyone else watching? I'm hooked!)

Monday came with more of the same gloomy weather so it was back to revision for Alex, online gaming for Josh and running around doing lots of errands for Tony and I (including more Brownie camp shopping!).  Then it was a hit the kitchen kind of afternoon...Brownies made by Josh, toasted corn salsa for me (ever hopeful the warm weather will return!) and spaghetti bolognese made by Tony for tea.

Thank you for putting up with this mammoth post!  I hope your bank holiday weekend has been fun filled and warmer than ours.  I have two more days off work but no sign of sun but we will make the most of it whatever the weather!

NSD Sketchy Scrappers challenge

The first challenge in the Sketchy Scrappers blog was a bingo challenge:

I chose the right hand column with old stash, stamps and 2 different alphas. I sorted through my stash for anything green, greay and peachy orange to go with the last scraps from an old kit. I ended up using three alphas and stamped some hearts and the date.

The journaling says "After 20 years we still posted the same song on Facebook when asked to share a song from the 90s."

The song was Only Wanna Be With You by Hootie and the Blowfish.

I really need to blog lots this weekend as have loads more pages to share!

One Photo and Twenty Words

She loves to write out quotes from her favourite books and add them to her photo frame alongside special pictures.

I'm joining in with Abi's monthly meme to share a photo and describe it in twenty words. Please feel free to join in... But it's not as easy as you think!

National Scrapbooking Day

So, did you join in?

I was working on the Saturday and so couldn't get to play until Sunday but when I did a made one layout, nearly finished another and made some PL style cards from my pocket scrapbooking pages.

I joined in with challenges from two Facebook groups I belong too - For the love of pretty paper and The Sketchy Scrappers who both organised some brilliant challenges and I hope to do some more over this week for the former and the rest of May for the latter :)

So this was the page I made first with the challenge to use 3 photos and some new stash.

I had two embellishment kits delivered from Freckled Fawn this week so dived in to use the new stash!

Challenge 3 was a fabulous challenge set by Fiona which I thoroughly enjoyed.  It was to make some project life cards,  I don't do PL but I do scrap with pocket pages. They are just fab for adding a load of photos from one event or holiday and I've shared many on here.

I used the remainder of my Gossamer Blue kit from the page above so the cards would blend and I can add lots more photos from our trip to Northumbria in 2008 - I may  even be able to finish the album!

What did you get up to on NSD?  I'll be stopping by this week to take a look :)
