Me on a Monday

This Monday finds me off for a day as it's Half Term.  A day of vet visits and a visit to the local Outlet shopping centre for some bargains for Alex and Josh.  But how about the weekend?

It was a late drive to the Peak District kind of Friday night to drop Josh off for a two day hike with Explorers (It turned out to be a one day hike but more of that in a minute).

It was the first day for wearing boots this Autumn kind of Saturday...

It was a chance to nip into Manchester for a few errands (the ones that could only be done in the city like a clarinet service!)...

Then chance for a sneaky lunch, just the two of us...

My pate came in a flower pot although I'm not sure Tony felt the same about his chicken wings in the mini picnic basket or the mushrooms in a garden trowel!

There was time for a stop at the local farm shop for some fresh veg...

And also the local deli for some cheese for supper (buying local to keep them in business!)

Then it was a drive back to the Peak District again on Saturday eve (unscheduled and interrupting my Strictly viewing!) as Josh had twisted his knee and could not continue with the hike.

Thank heavens for the extra hour in bed as we stayed up late to finish our Strictly viewing (and our cheese... Wensleydale and sticky toffee pudding anyone?)

It was a lazy kind of Sunday with scrapbooking (for me), a local football derby (for hubby), book reading and play stationing (for the kids) and watching Lewis Hamilton become World Champion - Yay!

And the vet visit?  Bruce was extremely curious!  After a thorough check it turns out he has a heart murmur.  Never knew cats could get those.  However it's very mild and nothing to concern ourselves with, just something to watch.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my weekend.  If you want to join in pop over and visit Sian.

Here's to a 4 day week!

Pets can be as worrisome as children sometimes.
I think I am with your husband on 'artfully' arranged food - I like mine on a plate!
Hope your son's knee heals quickly. So would you recommend the sticky toffee pudding cheese?

Hope Josh has a speedy recovery. There's a page on FB called "We Want Plates" that a friend of mine likes so I see it from time to time. There are some weird and wonderful ways of serving food!

Funny how themes run through posts on the same day. New boots on show and several injuries! Hope Josh recovers soon. I missed Strictly too with our trip to A&E. I suppose a TV in the waiting room would be asking too much!

Yes! This seems to have been an injury heavy weekend, right round the world. I'm sure he was disappointed as well as in pain..not fun. I hope he feels better soon.

That fancily presented lunch certainly makes for a great picture! Yes! To Lewis becoming World Champion again. And yes! again to new furry boots

Enjoy half term Julia.

Sorry to read about the long drive and the injury :(. Hoping he's on the mend ... Your deli looks wonderfully stocked and I am a tad envious. Arty food? Well, I guess you can try anything once :). Hoping you enjoyed your scrapping time and that your week is going well.

Hope Josh is on the mend and not too upset at missing the rest of the hike. Wonder how long that food presentation will last at that restaurant.

Popping in as part of my blog comment challenge 300 in 30 days. I don't think I've visited your blog before. Sounds like a nice weekend. Sorry your son twisted his knee! What a shame he couldn't finish the hike. Love the sound of cheese and Strictly!!
