The Great Lego Build Autumn 2011

Last night Tony decided he would make a Lego dinosaur, a mammoth to be precise! However there were some pieces missing from the box so then he looked in another kit for them and found that one all muddled up, then we all get involved and realised that all the kits were a complete mess. So somone (namely me!) had the bright idea of sorting all the kits out into colours and putting them back together again! So at the end of a couple of hours of sorting this is what we were left with...

Somewhere amongst that lot is Jabba's sailbarge, Indiana Jones plane, a couple of star wars fighters, Endor, some Atlantic sets and the aforementioned mammoth!! This looks like it may be an ongoing project over a few weeks (or even months!) I'll be back to post completed models if and when they are done!

4 x 6 Photo Love - July

So the challenge this month was to use 7 (yes 7!) 6x4 photos on one page. Once again Shimelle came up with an ingenious way of doing this and including the journalling too!

I have done this page using photos from our trip to London in April and using the September kit from Sarah's Cards with Jillybean Soup - Old World Cabbage papers. The extra photos are on a pull out folding card attached to the page so when it's closed it looks like a two photo lay out.

Looking forward to seeing what August's challenge is when we will be scrapping 8 photos!

Thanks for stopping by.

Three into one does go!

I had a lovely day yesterday with a couple of friends coming round to crop at mine and then husbands and kids joining us for food and wine in the evening.

I was catching up on Shimelle's challenges from last week's online crop and this one was for the Half Page Challenge"...It can be whatever half you would like, but somewhere around half the page space needs to be breathing room!"

The next was for the Grid It Up challenge..."Create a project with a grid as a design element! You can interpret that any way you wish! Get creative!"

And finally I have combined three challenges in one here! The sketch is from Shimelle's 4x6 photo love for May using 5 photos, the page was done for the Printable Challenge using one of the free downloads available on Shimelle's blog last weekend and I have also made this fit part of the weekly challenge over on UKS :)

Today...

Today I went to the library and got 3 new books to read
Today I hoped the sun will shine this week
Today I dreamed of scrap booking on my days off
Today I forgot to buy the leeks for tea
Today I heard that a friend is feeling better
Today I read Facebook and blogs
Today I watched the cat drinking out of the bird bath AGAIN!
Today I said "let's write a list of things to do in the holidays" And we did :)
Today I believed I was a zombie after very little sleep last night!
Today I felt relieved that I have finished work for nearly three weeks
Today I wondered why my kids always win the premium bonds and never me!
Today I bought some flowers for my wonderful Mother In Law for her child minding
Today I cleaned up the peas I spilled on the floor
Today I was me.

This was a great idea that I saw on Rachel's blog and it came from this blog here.

I need to blog more things like this :)

Let's Go Retro Challenge

The challenge this time was to scrap photos from before 2011 ideally from long long ago. Unfortunately the oldest pic I had ready to scrap was used on a previous challenge so I went with these from our holiday to Florida in May 2009.

The journalling is hidden behind and although it's all smiles in the photos these were taken after we had been on Stitch's ride in which I learnt exactly how loud my daughter can scream. It was one of the best rides we went on whilst we were there but as it was pitch black inside Alex wasn't impressed!!

I've used yet another Sarah's Cards kit from April 2009 (retro stash too!!) with MME Maggie May papers.

Think that's me for the weekend. Time for a cup of tea and some TV :)

Another 3 Challenges!

Well today I have managed another three of Shimelle's challenges from her online crop!

The first was the "Crop up your papers challenge" and to use your patterned paper to make the embellismentfor your page. I made this one with the August Kit from Sarah's Cards using Kaisercraft - Peachy Keen.

The next pages was for "A colour story challenge" and the brief was to create a project in red, white and aqua. I love these colours together and so I dived into another Sarah's Cards kit from March this year - October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker. I also combined this challenge with the weekly one over on UKS which had to use this sketch...

Plus a group of photos, a star and an H in the title.

The third challenge was one this afternoon entitled "3 is a magic number" in which we needed to group three embellishments. I've used the same kit here and I also decided to use 3 photos and catch up on my 4 x 6 photo love layouts as this is the sketch for March using 3 photos. There are 2 embellies above the journalling and 3 underneath the title.

Right off to seeif I can manage a 6th page this weekend!

Starting point challenge

The idea of this challenge was to start with the same basics - A large box of paper in the background, a wide vertical strip plus a narrow stripe and a horizontal block. Mine started off like this...

Then a photo, some jornalling and a few embellishments later it looked like this...

A close of of the embellishments which I made to co-ordinate.

This page is long overdue as I haven't recorded Joshua's favourties for a few years now. It's nice to look back on them and seehow much he's changed (or not!)

The first challenge...

OK So I'm a bit slow off the block but I am struggling with tonsilitis. However have spent a pleasant day pottering and making some pages.

This was the sketch from last night from Shimelle's online crop. There's lots of lovely give aways too!

I have used the January kit from Sarah's cards - Fancy Pants, Happy Together - and added some acrylic snowflakes and brads from my stash.

I'll be back later with more.

Shimelle's online scrapbook weekend is here!

Have finished work for the weekend and it's one where we have "not a lot" planned. The odd haircut and swimming lesson, oh and a quick trip to the vets for specialised cat litter (more on that another time!) So I am pleased to find Shimelle's online scrapbook weekend is happening now :).

You can find more details here and I'll be back later in the weekend with stuff I've made (I hope!) I've added my new Proud Scrapbooker pic to my blog and you can grab one there too.

Have a good weekend everyone!
