It's been a while since I posted a "moment" but I am determined to post 12 this year :)
I am snuggled on the sofa, feet on the stool, throw on my lap, keeping nice and warm. I can hear music from the kitchen - Tony is singing along to Bad Moon Rising (a song that has a special significance in our early years). I have had a weekend at Brownie holiday and am still feeling the effects even after a wonderful hot bath! I sip some red wine and relish the taste, the first since 3rd Jan. I have broken my dryathlon today which is not good but I tell myself I deserve it! I am simultaneously reading blogs and stroking Mackenzie, one of our 6 month old kittens, while enjoying being "connected" again. We were in a warm, cosy cottage but with no TV, internet or music. I sit here and realise I miss those things. They are such a part of my daily life now. From the kitchen I can smell the roast beef Tony is cooking for my tea. He texted me yesterday to check I needed dinner and then chose one of my favourites. How I love that man! Then I hone in on the music again. This time the Dixie Chicks - a band we discovered together. I smile at the memory and how music is always a common factor in our life. I reach out for Mackenzie again but she has gone. Kittens do not stay still that long I have learnt - I need to grab the cuddles while I can! Then there is a shout of "dinners ready" from the kitchen and it is time to reconnect. With food, with home and with family.
NB - music links are provided for your enjoyment :)
Thank you to Alexa who started the meme "Simply a moment". To play along you just head over and link up with your moment.

Oh I'm right there with you :) what a lovely moment you've shared with us.
ahhh, sounds lovely Julia. It's funny how certain songs are associated with times in our lives x
Love reading your moments last year so look forward to more this year :)
Hi Julia, and I have so enjoyed the warmth and coziness of your moment ... Your pleasure at being home again us palpable :). I've never heard of a dryathalon - thank you for enriching my vocabulary! Hoping your week continues with as much comfort and loving attention as today, and I am delighted you have joined in again this year :).
What a lovely peaceful warm moment. Hope you enjoyed your meal and sip of wine. You can go back to dryathalon?
Such a cosy moment. Dryathlon continues here. No hardship for me, but there have been a couple of occasions when The Mechanic nearly broke!
What a lovely moment - complete with great music and kittens. Our kittens are heading up to fifteen and definitely have slowed down now.
Never heard of Dryathalon - so went and looked it up. Tickled me as I go for months and months without any alcohol but did actually have some last weekend.
