Me on a Monday

The weekend for me started early as I had Friday off work so forgive me for indulging myself and including Thursday but it was a milestone weekend...

Thursday was a recreating old photos and the last day of uniformed school kind of day...

2010...

2015...
..
It was coming home with a shirt full of memories kind of Thursday...

Friday dawned and it was the traditional leavers day at school kind of Friday which only comes once and includes boys in suits and girls in pretty dresses. It was also a get up early and curl my daughters hair kind of day!

It was a head to the pub for lunch with other Year 11 mum's kind of Friday so we could see them come out of school...

It was a tearful moment when I saw my girl kind of day but so pleased she has had such a lovely group of friends to take her through high school...

And then it was a stay out in the village with friends and drink kind of afternoon. Reminiscing and getting emotional as we were missing our friend who died in November and couldn't see what we could see including her beautiful daughter leaving school too...

Saturday dawned with tired heads and it was into Manchester for a rabies jab for Alex, a mooch in a couple of shops and lunch in Costa.  Then it was back to enjoy the weather for summer had finally arrived!  It was a salad in the sun kind of Saturday evening - I so love eating in the garden when the weather is fine.

Oh no wait Summer hadn't arrived for Sunday dawned cloudy and cold.  So it was a Brownie camp prep and planning morning (so much to document as I am applying for my licence to take them away this time) including cutting lots of shapes to make camp pin badges (Thank heavens for a big shot!)...

And a bit of scrapbooking and catching up on Home Fires (is anyone else watching? I'm hooked!)

Monday came with more of the same gloomy weather so it was back to revision for Alex, online gaming for Josh and running around doing lots of errands for Tony and I (including more Brownie camp shopping!).  Then it was a hit the kitchen kind of afternoon...Brownies made by Josh, toasted corn salsa for me (ever hopeful the warm weather will return!) and spaghetti bolognese made by Tony for tea.

Thank you for putting up with this mammoth post!  I hope your bank holiday weekend has been fun filled and warmer than ours.  I have two more days off work but no sign of sun but we will make the most of it whatever the weather!

What a lovely post Julia. I enjoyed it all and can so identify with those school photos, being in the same position with my own girl. A bitter sweet moment thinking about your poor friend. I hope her children are doing OK.
